Happy 4th!

The best thing about sugar cookies, besides being yummy, is that you can decorate them for ANY holiday!

Happy 4th of July!  I hope you have delicious and fun plans for the day.  We’ve been getting ready for a dock party and sailing excursion!  Very Berry Cobbler, Sugar Cookies, and Firecracker Dip (see recipe below) are all packed in our picnic basket with plenty of sunscreen and cold drinks. I cannot wait to get out on the ocean and enjoy this beautiful day.  I will post a few photos from our sailing later.

Here is a really easy, crowd pleasing recipe that we’ll be enjoying today:

Serve hot with crackers and fresh vegetables for dipping

Ingredients

2 cups diced sweet onion
1 cup mayonnaise
2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
2 tsp Sriracha Asian hot chili sauce (adjust to taste)
Fresh ground black pepper to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Combine ingredients; pour into an oven safe bowl.

Place in oven and bake for 30 minutes until bubbly and golden. Remove from oven; garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve hot with crackers and fresh vegetables for dipping.

Sriracha is made from sun ripened chili peppers which are ground into a smooth paste along with garlic.
